With AI building websites, writing reviews and generating images the line between real and not really is getting really blurry.

The web has given us unlimited resources and the tools to make use of it all. The problem with tile is finding a local installer who is professional, trustworthy and clean. Not an easy task.

I think the best reference anyone can ever hope for is having done the same thing for nearly 4 decades. It has to demonstrate comprehensive skills and adaptability if nothing else. I began installing in 1984, and started my first LLC in 1987. I have installed tile in 5 decades 23 states and 3 countries. Let that soak in for a bit.

"For me tile is more art than science, and each shower is a creation i take pride in."

I am particular in what jobs i take on, which sometimes I must admit is a bad idea as it can leave gaps in my schedule. I see tile as an extension of art. Art means different things to different people and because of this i feel it is vital to find the right installer for you and your project. An installer who can see your vision makes all the difference, as they can make the right choices based upon your vision and their experience to ensure your vision comes to life. If you have read all of this and are still here there is a good chance i might be the right person for your job, so try out the free self service estimate builder, if you like the price let me know. I'd love to hear from you!

one-day bath

The one-day guys are selling a show. They buy these kits for $500 and with their in-house financing sell them for an average of $12,500.00  There is even one who shows his warehouse full of these kits in his ad, Can you see why so many "specialists" have popped up?

This entire bath remodel was less than 65% of the cost of the "one day make over" shower this client had done in another bathroom in the house.

Originally an awkward, almost free‑standing structure that fought the natural flow of the room, this shower has been completely renovated into a showpiece that feels intentional, open, and beautifully integrated.

By lowering the side walls just below the ceiling line and removing the overhead bars, the design now embraces the vaulted ceiling—creating an airy, expansive feel while still maintaining privacy.

The exterior is set in a stacked pattern using black porcelain. The same porcelain is used on the tub face, borders, and frame.

Inside, the walls are finished with a refined porcelain tile, set in a modified herringbone pattern.  The niche mirrors this pattern on a smaller scale with hand cut black porcelain from the exterior. Both are paired with a companion grout to create subtle movement without overwhelming the eye.

The vertical pebble accent adds an organic texture and yet more visual interest, while the full width bench and European style plumbing make this one extraordinary shower.
